When did MP 300 come out?  It doesn't show on the burn rate charts.

Its been out for about four or five years now and below is the link to the burn rate chart that includes it. It has been my powder of choice since the day it first came out and I am on the tail end of my 8th 8lb jug to date using it in my 32-40, 28-35 and 25-21.

Thanks guys, I thought it must be about that speed.  Just curious when   it came out since it wasn't on the charts I have seen.

Spring finally arrived here. Went out with a traditional rifle and shot this using 300-MP.

Nice group.  Welcome to the 300MP crowd!  It is still doing very well in my Ballard and High Wall 32-40s.  Now I have nothing to blame but my poor wind techniques.  I am only using 12.4 gr.  I may have to see what 14+ does in my High Wall.

Nice shooting! and I am happy to hear that the powder and primer choice seems to be working out for you as well as it did for me.

Jack you might find it to be a tad better with something in the 14.2gr. range, the majority seem to be having their best results in that range with the same powder and primer mentioned above. It is also the same range I was having extremely good success with in the 32-40 with either the 200gr. Hoch or the 195gr. PJ Spitzer with the Hoch being the better of the two in regards to day in and day out consistency. I also have a 200gr. Darr FN that I used to set the new ASSRA 100YD, 5-5Shot Average Record with back in Oct. of 2013. At a 100yds. the load used is 13.7grs. to 13.9grs. and 14.2grs. to 14.4grs. for 200yds. depending on the current Temp. for the day.

Thanks John,

Going to experiment more after Spokane.  I shot my best match ever at Tacoma a couple of weeks ago and will start with that load.  I may try a hotter load if accuracy falls off in the Spokane winds. Either way, 300MP is doing what you suggested it would do.

JLOUIS - I finally was able to buy 300-MP and Win LRM.  Made a special trip to the gun show; otherwise, what a waste.  But I did get to see a pig in a pink tutu.  Honest, I was sober!

Different loads for different ranges, I never heard of that.  Learned something new. Smiley

My daily pain Meds. are quite strong and if I saw a Pig in a Pink Tutu it might not be all that unusual but I would surely get off of them in a real big hurry and think about taking up drinking to erase the thought of actually seeing it! Should I even dare ask what that Pig was selling at the Gun Show?

If you do your load development at a 100yds. and a good thing to do as the effects from the conditions are less but don't assume the excellent results you finally achieve will provide the same excellent results at 200yds.!
The rule of thumb for a possible need to change your powder charge is one tenth grain for every 10 degrees of change in Temp. Some powders being more sensitive than others so if you see a vertical increase starting to appear on your target a change might be in order to get it back down. This is something you will need to make note of during your practice sessions so you don't unknowingly start dropping points in a match.

Steel targets.  I'll post a picture tomorrow... she's on Instagram. Tongue

Geez, 300-MP is like loading talcum powder.

As promised, Sabrina.  See, I wasn't off my meds.

No, I didn't slip any $1s in her tutu!
