ANY SIGHT BENCH 200 YARDS

Jerry Hartwig:  248/8   248/8=496/16
Terry Harper    248/8   248/8=496/16
Bruce Kirby     246/6   249/9=495/15  (my wife scored the second target as it was too close to call.
Rich Davis      247/7   244/5=491/12
John Louis      246/7   244/5=490/12

IRON SIGHT BENCH 200 YARDS

Hartwig:    247/7-249/9-243/4-243/4-246/6=1228/30
Kirby:        244/4-239/2-244/4-246/6-240/2=1213/18
Davis:       241/3-243/4-241/3-243/3-244/5=1212/18
Harper:     245/5-242/2-238/2-242/2-242/2=1209/13
Louis:       243/4-239/2-238/2-244-5-244/5=1208/18

Jerry Hartwig shot a Iron Sight target that scored 249! A remarkable achievement. He also shot one yesterday in practice.  To my knowledge there has been only one 250 target ever shot with Iron Sights at 200 yards.  It was shot by Bev Pinney of Washington.

Bruce Kirby
Match Director

I might add that Jerry was shooting his 25-20WCF in both matches and both of his 249-9 Iron Sight Targets match and practice can veiwed in General Topics in the Form thread question topic.

Dave,
You'd have to know Jerry.  He never listens and doesn't take directives.   His gun is pretty remarkable.   As many guys as I've watched shoot, this guys gun is the hummer, makes Jerry Look good.  His gift is his patience.  He waits til he has his condition...period.  He shoots his .33/47 well also.
Missed seeing you in Raton.

Jerry has worked extremely hard to get where he is at, his heart and passion for the game is second to none that I have met for quite some time. While others who have not accomplished the same are telling you how to do it while sitting behind their computers when they have not accomplished the same he continues to do what he does best on a regular basis. Whether it be his 25WCF or his 33-47 that shoots just as well one will have to do their home work to get past him as he is at the top of his game and it is well deserved. He is soft spoken about his shooting and is always willing to share on a more personal and non argumentative basis than this site has to offer so shoot him a PM and pick his brain and I would not be surprised if were not better for doing so if you are indeed serious about becoming one of the top three competitor in the Nation and one would also be hard pressed to find a better personal friend of which I have been bleesed to have several not just because they are in this game but as result there of. Jerry beware our good freind and brother BLK / Bruce K is on his way to the top in our group and also well deserved by his weekly efforts spent at the range with myself and not by by sitting behind his computer listening to opinions based on someone elses accomplishments other than the person sharing their own and maybe less desirable to try and learn from while they still proclaim to know exactly what it takes to get to the top but have never been there themselfs.

Yours Sincerely
John Louis

Dave, Do you remember what Bev used to shoot his IS 250?  I'm sure it was a Miller and 32, but to not know for sure or the exact cartridge.

Dave, That is what I think it was too.  If I get to CBA at Kenmore when he is there I'll try to ask him, but it may be next year.

Congrats on the excellent shooting Jerry!
