New to .22 Stevens Single Shot Ammo (Read 4116 times)

	Have some new Jamison Brass that has not been formed completely. Do these get fireformed? If so, what is the proper length with projectile? If not, is it completed in the die? Don't have dies yet, so can't experiment. ANY HELP APPRECIATED.

	I'm guessing 22-15-60 Stevens. I have one and 20 cases I got form Rocky Mountain Cartridge Co. I had to trim the front of the rim to get them to chamber in my 44 1/2. That's as far as I've got so far; the biggest problem being locating a source of .228 bullets.

	.22-15-60 make sense I guess. Jamison hasn't made any brass for it though, to my knowledge. As for .228 bullets, I've lapped out a Lee Bator mould. Had to make a sizer die.

	Post the Neck -Shoulder (if any) - Base - Rim diameters and the Rim width and Case length. Then the caliber can be identified. Otherwise - just guesses!

	Generally the cartridge drawing firms avoid the narrow, deep drawn stuff (.25-21, .25-25, .22-15-60, .28-30). The only exception is Bertram, and even they shy away from the .22-15-60. RMC's lathe turned cases are the only ones I've been able to find. If Jamison is making some, count me in!

	Go on the For Sale forum and advertise to buy some cast .228 bullets. I suspect there's at least a couple of people out here with molds that size, one of whom might be willing to help you out.
