	Received my breech seating tool from Russ Weber. A very nice piece of kit.

	* Did Russ buff out all the milling marks on the brass? * Can you lock the set screw in the tapper hole?

	I don't see any milling marks on the cartridge brass anywhere, and the device is adjustable for seating depth, but which is the tapper hole? The brass "locking lug" that engages the receiver mortise does have machining marks on it, yes. There may be some really faint marks on the portion of the cartridge rim which was cut away flush with the corresponding interface with the tool. There is a set screw of sorts on the shaft that allows one to adjust the seating depth, with a tiny little hex wrench sort of grub screw to hold the adjustment in place. Is that the tapper hole you are asking about?

Is that the tapper hole you are asking about? Correct. You might want to insure that the hex screw locks tightly to the plug rod. Mine doesn't - the tap threads are buggered. And the brass had all the milling cuts still on the the brass which were not polished off. I spent a good amount of time with a draw file or polishing cloth removing them on my seater. Bottom line - finishing on the seater was not done - looked like hell and I had to do what Russ should have done before he mailed it plus I had to re-tap the hole for a larger hex plug. Was wondering if your seater looked like mine - poor finish

	John Boy, it could have been finished better yes. But it WORKS which is my concern now. It clears the rear sight handily, and I am overall just tickled with it. I can work it over for better finish as time allows, and seeing that winter will be here soon enough, that and doing a top end on my '58 BSA will be among my winter projects. Today I shot some fixed ammunition, using tapered bullets, to get fire formed cases. It wasn't a pretty sight. I am happy that there was no leading in the bore. Next time it is breech seating. Thanks for the heads-up on that grub screw. I haven't checked it yet, but I will now. I'd like to get a little box for it at some point. Regards, Stubb.

	I've always heard that Russ Weber makes Nice Seaters! I don't own one...I have a couple made by another fellow that work fine. The Weber seaters I've seen at the matches look like first class tools to me. Terry

	They are 1st class, but then what else would expect from a 1st class guy? His re/decappers are first class too. Unbreakable deprime pin, or at least he's never had one break.

	52Jones57, neat box. The photo against that background looks like theres no bottom to the box! Like if you picked up your box, you would leave your tools on the bench! Still its neat you can do that sort of thing, woodworking. It seems to me that to forego some sort of protective carrying device is to invite catastrophe such as crushing the case mouth or something while in transit. I'll start searching for something soon.

	I have the same leather in the bottom of the case that's on my shooting box. I cut out the pattern out of 3/4" walnut and glued a 1/4" bottom on it. The lid is 3/8" thick.
