	Hey Guys, I just posted an article comparing Remington, Winchester and Starline .45-70 brass. I’ve discussed this before on this forum but combined the data, comments and photo into a short article. Those of you with Browning BPCRs in either .40-65 or .45-70 may be especially interested since I included recommendations based on matching brass and chamber dimensions. 	Wayne - Thanks for the article comparison. Informative! I don't know exactly how many several thousands of Starline brass I have for every caliber I shoot. This being said unless they don't make a caliber I shoot - always buy Starlines. Might add - very few split cases after multiple reloads for brass that I've had since the late '90's

	Does stretching the neck or the center of the case make it more prone to case separations?

I've experienced separations in both places; but mostly near the base. Easy to detect by looking for a burnished area and/or using a tool made from a bent paperclip to feel the impending separation on the inside.

	I've had a lot of Winchester .45-70 cases separate right near the center....I've switched to Remington without Any Problems! Terry

Terry Also have some mid-case separations with Winchester 45-70 sized down to 40-65. But, cases are several years old and probably been reloaded 50+ times. Think I was a bit careless with them once upon a time and allowed them to corrode a bit on the inside and that was the problem. Have retired that particular set of cases to the brass recycling program. For my lower powered loads (59gr of powder, or less) I use Starline. For more powerful loads (>60gr of powder) I use Winchester as it holds about 4-5gr more powder due to its thinner case wall, etc. Consider both to be excellent brass, as is R-P. Have no experience with Federal.

	You know, I told you wrong...don't know why I said Federal...I meant Remington! The Winchester brass I used was about 13 years old but NOS...Was using same load I use now...65 Grains of OE 2F. This was 100 cases from the same lot that I had only shot 5 or 6 times. The Remington I am using now is just as old as the Winchester was. In Winchesters Defense, The previous 100 I used lasted probably close to 20 reloadings before separating. Terry

	Any info on whether you all are resizing brass between firing . Or are you simply finger seating bullets in fire formed cases w/o any sizing, taper crimping etc ?? Tx beltfed/arnie
