The worst part of shooting a match is fetching all the equipment from the parking area and carrying it to the line. The rest is a real Hoot until the match ends!

That's the first time I've seen 300 MP in a metal can.

JLouis, you got a lot in that bag.  It must weight a ton.  Smiley
I've looked at some soft bags and have one for a plastic rifle.  Mostly loaded down with mags.

Never mind the mule. Just load the wagon.

George if it was all in a machinist chest I would not be able to lift it. The empty bag hardly weighs anything so when loaded it truly really isn't all that heavy.

For pistol and revolver shooting I use one of the large nylon tool bags from either Lowe's or Home Depot. For rifle shooting I use a small suitcase thingy that had held chemical instruments. Holds ammo, targets, stapler, rest, small tools. Had a way bigger one but after I threw out my back went to the smaller one. Weighed the big one and came out at 85 pounds. I have a small folding hand cart to hump it around. Frank

Frank, no serious shooter should show up at a range w/o a milk crate.   Grin

Don, that Gerstner is one beautiful shootin' box.  Does your powder thrower fit in the top of the box?

Hello George
yes it does fit in the top of the box, and the drop tube is made in 3 sections so it breaks down and fits in a draw
I will take a photo later and post

here is a photo of the top compartment of the box

I looked on Gerstner's website and didn't see your box but they have some nice ones.

R: Gerstner tool chests.

There are two Gerstner brands. "Gerstner" is still made in the US-of-A. "Gerstner International" is one of those so-called "quality imports".

Hello George
That is style 12-16 and is not made any longer Sad, it is the perfect size for shooting.

I bought mine back in the early 80's for the ungodly price of 225.00

They are now so far out of site I just shake my head when I look at the prices.

I did get lucky and found a walnut 12-16 at a Reno gun show a couple years ago and gladly paid 175.00 for it.

Here is a picture I took at the range one day of all the Gerstners

Thanks, Don

Had a Gerstner like the large one in the center. Swapped for the smaller Harbor Freight much lighter and drawers are deeper. It is foreign made-bummer!

Maybe not quite in the same range as the Gerstner as shown in the pics, but back in the late '70's I bought a 7 drawer Kennedy tool box to hold all my precision instruments like mic's and calipers. Wopping $50 bucks and carried it home (no car) shudder to think what they go for today. Beautiful tool chests. Frank

From the looks of the Gerstner prices, I might be more inclined to do a few more hand cut dovetails  Wink

45 govt, all those Gerstners are a pretty fair showing of the preferred range box.  Not trying to take anything away from what anyone else uses.
I always wanted a Gerstner back in the day but I couldn't afford one, now I can't justify buying one. Of course, if a good deal on a used one came along I would probably jump on it.  Wink

I use the same Pachmayer pistol box that Jerry uses. I have one set up as original for pistols, and a 2nd set up to use for my rifles. I have a mount set up for my spotting scope to allow it to be attached to the lid when it's open. Just an old window clamp Redfield, that clamps to the lid, and allows me to check the target. The Pachmayer has a nice compartment that my 20x Kowa fits into nicely.
