I've been looking all over the net trying to find one close to your price, Argie. You got a heck of a buy.

"Look at how many people have taken a lesser rifle- '03, military Mauser or rolling block, for instance and used it to produce a very nice piece."  Argie said.

Love that quote. My two BPCR's are Rollers.  Grin

Never mind the mule. Just load the wagon.

I found the price I got it for at guns international you have to log in to find prices. I went on today and the one I bought has been taken down. there were 2 of them at that price and both are gone. I started looking for one several months ago. I told my shooting buddy I would find one between 6 and 650 and I think they might go lower as they flat are not selling. cabala's stores have a ton of them and someday all of them are going to be marked down. whoever came up with a carbine single shot wasn't a shooter. if they had even put a 22 inch barrel on it or better yet 24 inches it would have been a better looking and useful rifle    (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
at least I can shoot it until I get the money to convert it I have a marlin cowboy lever action and several moulds and brass. I did manage to take a white tail with the 38-55 dropped in its tracks and never even quivered. how I love the old cartridges and guns. so little money so many toys I don't have    yet.

if you think you have it figured out  then you just dont understand

I think your idea is on the money.  They are ugly as-is, but that could be easily solved with a new barrel.  I'd probably remove the saddle ring too and plug the hole. They are great actions. Keep us posted on your progress.
