I have to brag on my wife. She shot her highest score to date and got second place BUT, she shot a 25 on her 3rd record shot, into the sighter target, by mistake and her last shot was a 23.

I shot a new bullet w/o testing beforehand.

I sure will, Bob. I already told her she had one on here from J Louis and she got them from everyone in the club, that was there.

Bob,
She stot a 242 4c but, had she not shot her sighter for the third shot, it would have been a 244 5c. Tony was 1st place wirh a 244 4c. I was last place Sad

For those interested, the barrel is a .308 groove, 12 twist Douglas on a small ring HW, chambered 32/20 and a 180 gr RL, 1.145 lg bullet. I switch her over to #9 powder (9.0 gr) from 296 (10.2 gr).

It was just a test so, I haven't chronographed the load to check the velocity. The 10.2 load of 296 was 1408 fps and figure the 9.0 gr load will be close to the same.

Don,
This is the drawing in post #17:

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

There is a NOE mold that I designed that is exacty the same, other that the bore riding area:

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

It is parallel at .252 rather than tapered from .250 - .253.

Several people on this forum bought it. I'm suprised that no one has reported their results with it. I have a brass mold but, no 25 to try it in so, I can't help.

As Frank mentioned it does vary from the Mos design in more ways than one compared to mine but not by much and it would be nice to have an exact copy of Mos's proven design. I am not saying Franks would not shoot as good or possibly better I am simply saying it is just not quite the same as David's.

JLouis,
The numbers that you see in my Mos Mold drawing are the exact numbers that I got off of the bullet that Jerry gave me at the match that I attended.  I'm sure that Mos didn't make all of his molds exactly the same , alloy's and casting temps, of course will make small differences, too.

That's pretty cool!  She would have won without the error!

Bill Crane worked on a 32-20 and said it should work but he never got his to.  Congrats, you are blazing a new trail  Cheesy
