Enforcer/4100....the same? again....

I put out a call locally for 4100/Enforcer, which I have seen claimed to be identical in my searches herein.  I've been offered a 4 lb keg, a quantity a bit too much on an experimental basis.  So, can anyone here empirically affirm that Enforcer is identical to 4100?

I can't totally totally affirm it but, at least one person on this forum has call and was told that it is.

When you have loading data that is exactly the same with both pressure and velocity (not 1 lb or 1 fps off), it's hard to say that it isn't.

Now, I'll tell you the other side:

When I went down to Modesto to shoot, two years ago, I compaired my Enforcer with Jerry's 4100 and visually, they didn't look the same, very simular both have very small, ball granuals but, not the same. Color is a little different, too.

I run QL for my 30/30 Wesson and the data base for the powders has both.

11.0 gr, BSed 180 gr lead bullet:

Enforcer
1409 FPS, 14,032 PSI

4100
1337 FPS, 12,330 PSI

My only thought is that maybe they where different, in the first years but, they were so close, they droped one and renamed the other?

All that said, they should, now be the same.

Buy it, if you don't like it, I'll purchase it from you for what you paid, you can't lose anything, that way.

Frank

I have been in contact with Western Powder. They distribute both AA4100 and Ramshot Enforcer.

According to them, without a doubt, the two powders are the same. This from a representative at Western powder.

Don't rely on my word though. Call Western Powder to ease your mind.

I wouldn't trust them though. Sell it to me for some testing.  Cool I'll return the unused portion after testing at no charge.

Seriously, I think you're good to go. Call Western powder just to be sure.

I had heard the same thing so when I found 4 pounds at a gunshow I pounced on it. The next weekend I went out with 4100 and the Enforcer and shot a test. I shot 5 shots with my best load for 4100 in my 32-30 IMP and then 10 shots over the chronograph. I then changed powder bottles shot 5 more shots to settle the powder and then ran 10 shots over the chronograph. The two strings showed identical velocities. The groups printed in the same place and the groups were pretty much the same. If you decide not to take it PM me and I’ll take it all in a heartbeat.

Burn rates for Ramshot powders ... Look at RQ 60 & 61
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
Look at RQ 60
Also look at 104 & 114 ... (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Also ADI says they are both equivalents!

Thanks.  Powder is in hand.  Now maybe I can crank up the velocities a bit.  FWIW it's a little slower than 2400 - my CF cast bullet go-to.  A shame it seems not to do well in 32-20.

Pentz- You are one lucky fella to have scored that powder. And, I must add, a sharp operator to buy it. If you ever decide you don't like it or you find a source for more, just let me know. I'd like to be 1st. in line.
