Target Percussion Rifle needs some TLC

I just got this in the mail today.  It is my first muzzleloader of any type and man, does it need some TLC.  First the basics; it is a percussion target rifle of unknown caliber made by H.V. Perry of NY who was known to be a quite a shooter and rifle builder in his time. I'm guessing it weighs around 10lbs.

The Good:
- All original.  All of the finishes and even the screws look untouched.
- Globe front sight with a beautiful heart shaped tang sight.

The Bad:
- Chip in forestock near the barrel wedge.  Missing a piece of hardware.
- That beautiful rear sight is bent
- Ramrod is stuck in place.  It is metal and I do not know if it is original
- There is a little bit of cracking around the lock thru bolt
- Hammer is missing/broken
- THE TANG IS BROKEN

Unknown:
- Bore condition
- Is the front sight supposed to have an insert or just be open?

I have toyed with the idea of building a muzzleloader for a long time but I don't actually know anything about them.  Any questions, comments, or advice are welcome.  The only thing I know about this gun is that I like it and I want it to get a functional restoration.

My first impressions are that I like this gun and that it deserves to be brought back to life.

As a real New Yorker (not NY City), I'm always interested in any New York rifle form the 18th and 19th century. And there were a LOT of gunmakers here.
Your rifle is going to be a real challenge to restore, especially if you have little or no experience with these old guns.
Good luck with it.

BTW, that stock architecture looks like it came from over near Vermont to my eye, but I could be wrong

If economically feasible I will have a professional work on it.  I'm only in it for parts- gun money so I've a little bit of room to work.

Perry worked out of NY and in my research, ( i.e. google) all of his stocks look like this.  Mine is marked with his name and Fredonia NY.

My cheap calipers measure the bore around .330.
