Found this in some recently acquired items,  don't know what it is.  can guess it has  some use in sighting,

Think it's for measuring apertures. Chuck Bordman has one.  Don't know how to operate it.

Insert the tapered probe in the hole, adjust to fit, read the diameter from the scale.
