he's a hard working man, puts in a lot of hours making good stuff for us. I'd suggest emailing him. A lot of the work he does requires a lot of concentration and answering the phone at random times can be a distraction I know other busy 'smiths and similar work guys who don't take calls in the shop. when I need to actually talk to discuss a project I usually use email to find the appropriate time to call and I try to keep the call as short and to the point as possible out of respect, and not to waste their time with chit-chat.
If you call a Dr or a Lawyer you'll probably find a charge on your next bill (or its built in)

I know Steve. We are about 20 miles apart. The prior response was dead on, he is busier than a one legged wall paper hanger.
