Retirement Gift
Jun 5th, 2015 at 7:10pm
Print Post
My retirement gift from myself. I have 20 years in the Air Force and 18 years in the Dept. of Corrections. So I figured, what the hell I'll never have another chance to buy a rifle like this. Ran it past my wife and she said go for it, that I deserved it. What a woman !!! Match Grade B, 38-55. I have no wood working skills, so a Jeff's Outfitters case (with some modification) will have to do for now. I have added appropriate items I've collected over the years. Dale.

Everyone should treat themselves to a retirement gift they love! That's a gorgeous Hepburn, and the accoutrements just compliment it, and make it better!

Beautiful rifle in a nice cartridge. A worthy retirement gift.
As nice as your Hepburn is, retirement is even better. Nothing beats it.
Load up your favorite bullet with ~45gr of 3F BP and come down to Quinton the 2nd Saturday of the odd numbered months (July 11 is next) and shoot the 50/100/150/200m off-hand silhouette match with us.

I really like it that you do not have any "modern" stuff in your case. What a lovely rifle and set up. I hope that your rifle shoots as good as it looks.

Thanks Chris. Yes, everything is to the period as it would have have been in the day. Except the cleaning rod which is a Marbles. To tell the truth, I don't know what kind of cleaning rod would be in an outfit like this. So it will do for now. Dale.

Well Dale you went and done it. And I generally have not favored Hepburns. BAH! youth is wasted on the young. But that is surely a beautiful outfit and I have no doubt it will shoot for sure. Congradulations on your well earned retirement. Regards, FITZ. Smiley

Dale, that is one drop dead gorgeous rifle and the accessories are simply sweet.
Now, I got a deal for you - the bullet that will shoot groups as sweet as rifle depending on your rifle's twist.  The remake of the Ideal 375166, 320gr obsolete mold.  It calculates 17.65 in a 1:18 with maximum stability. 42gr of 1.5 or FFg and under MOA at 100 & 200.  Plus, drops the steel from 200 to 500m
If you would like to give them a try, give me a call and a tray of them is yours
