We haven't had any new pics for a while, so I thought I'd post a couple of my Pacific that I bought a little while ago off GB.
40-65, replacement barrel, J.M. Marlin address.

I like. Shoot good? I have never owned a Ballard, but I got my first Highwall from a fellow looking to finance a Ballard. So, I owe those rifles for causing me to gain a lifelong joy. Pat

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Pacific Ballards are one of my favorites! Love the thick base midrange tang sight! Usually a thin base tang sight would be on a JM Marlin marked Ballard, and thick base on the later MFACo. Ballard.

Nice rifle. Good buy.
Looks like an honest to goodness real rifle. 40-65? Winchester? Ballard?

Thanks Joe.
40-65 Win.
Talking with the owner after the sale I negotiated for a set of dies, but they somehow got lost?
He offered to return the die money, but it hasn't happened to date. I did purchase some primed brass, but I've been too busy to do any shooting.
And it's very hot here in Florida, it's how we pay for the beautiful winters.

The Pacific is one of my favorite rifles. Have shot down a lot of redskins on TV with mine. It has that perfect feel.
You going to shoot yours in BPCS matches? One of the best calibers for that game.
Joe.

Yes, shooting BPCR matches is part of the plan.
I'm just a beginner, but it doesn't stop me from having a lot of fun.
I have a Maynard I hope to use also.

Neat rifle Rebel. Had one some 40 yrs. ago while stationed in New Mexico. Didn't know what I had and sold it some years back. Was a 45-70. But not as good as shape as yours. Enjoy. Dale.

Pretty sure your midrange sight will get you out to 500 meters no problem. Looks like the re barrel job is well done.
Do you have it yet? #of grooves? Bore size?
Joe.
