Here are a few photos of a Model 47 I recently picked up in .25-20SS.

Very nice and beautiful rifle, Terry. Did you get it from Leon?

Beautiful rifle.
Unusual front globe and tang sight combination on your rifle, as that No. 100 Mid-Range Vernier tang sight was usually used along with the No. 207 or 208 Front Wind-Guage globe sight.

Sights on Stevens are hard to figure after the fact. They had their standard sight options with specific front and rear sights. They also would sell you any available sight from any manufacturer of the time if you wanted it. I would imagine you could also special order any combination of sights that you wanted. Factor in that anyone can change sights at any time and it gets interesting.

Do you intend to shoot it and if so where will you find brass?

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Jameison and Bertram both sell brass for the .25-20SS, as does Rocky Mountain Cartridge Co. Jameison is great, as is RMCCo.

I received 55 cases with the rifle, but they had been neck sized down to .22 caliber. I made a tool and have gotten most of them back out to .25 caliber having lost some from splitting.
