I want the option of using 2 scopes for BR use. #1 (used at 200 yards only) will be mounted and carried in my hard case. #2 (used at 100 yards only) must be safely carried separately. Does anyone know where I might find a sturdy (soft or hard) case to hold a Weaver 36 with rings attached?

A hard pistol case would be ideal, however, why? We go back and forth from 100 to 200 with regularity. The vertical is easy as is the parallax. Besides, mounting and remounting the scopes will require adjustment anyway.

Seems to me you have good excuse to have a 100 yd. rifle and a 200 yd. rifle.
Never mind the mule. Just load the wagon.

Tim_s - I'm learning by trying different approaches than my neighbors. My Weaver 36 is 15 1/2" L. - no way will it fit my hard pistol cases which are 12 X 8 X 2 1/2. (even on the diagonal)
GeorgeC & QM - 100 yard rifle and 200 yard rifle ? - I'm working on it. Both CPAs. .32-20CPA & .25-20WCF. Lots of work, but both are progressing nicely.
Still looking for a suitable "scope case". Thanks.

For my two MVA 28 inch scopes I found a Browning takedown case at a gun show. Well made, foam lining, good latches, don't have to worry about them when I travel.

Champion Shooters Supply in Ohio carries a soft case which comes in two different lengths. I've used them and like them.

Quite - why?
Apart from shooting in poor light conditions I can't think of any reason for
needing
a 'scope.

Different approaches is always fun, those with zero practical gain....why?
They make a pistol case somewhat bigger than yours. I have one that comfortably houses 2 14" TC's with a couple extra barrels.

Thanks for all the good ideas. I managed to create a pretty nice case from (a length of) a heavy duty cardboard tube in which I had received a barrel. 4" D. by 22" L.. 2" foam block at each end. Scope wrapped in sheet foam. One end of tube plugged & glued - the other has a removable plug. Strong & solid enough for my use and doesn't take up too much space. Total investment ............. about an hour and $0.00.
