I use a soy wax/bee's wax combination along with other ingredients in my black powder lube. It has worked well for me over the years, and when I lived in Phoenix it held up well in the extreme summer heat.

I was told by a candle maker that soy wax does not leave a black residue in a house like beeswax candles.  From that I would assume that it would also leave less residue in the barrel when shooting black powder.  Maybe a wrong assumption.
I do use it in the lube that I make for smokeless powder.  It is not as hard as beeswax and along with all the other crap (stuff) that I put in my lube it seems to work fine for my shooting both plain base (Schuetzen) and gas checked bullets.
That being said Lee Liquid Alox also works fine in my Schuetzen rifles and the cases are not as greasy as with my homemade lube and it is a heck of a lot faster to apply.

We add other waxes to Alberta Schuetzen Lube to improve it's stickiness (hot weather) after we select a viscosity that provides proper flow, ability to mix in fouling and have great lubricity at minus 40.

I have never seen soy wax before.

At room temperature is it stickier than bee's wax?

Soy wax is  the same consistency as mutton tallow - soft and not sticky
Yes, I used it til I got a supply of tallow.  It is a good ingredient to use for BP reloads.  Many of the Cowboy shooters use it for their Big Lube bullets that has a single 3gr lube groove. It will leave a 'star' at the muzzle.  When I used it for CAS matches - could shoot 2 day matches with no cleaning of the bore and no hard foul
