I looked at that cased Maynard set at the Tulsa show last fall at the Amoskeag Auction table. It is in mint condition in every way. It would be extremely difficult to find one in better condition.Someone I know has told me that he has the highest condition 1st Model Maynard known. I've not seen it but I've seen this one and if there is a better one it must be spectacular.

I could never own anything like that. I would need to shoot it and to the type of collector who buys items like that it would be sacrilege.

Happy to see your involved in this wonderful Firearm !!!  So glad to see it survived all these year's .  If you can, please see it is secured in one place...  I speak from experience when I tell you of my loss over the year's of rare SS item's that were "loaned" to other's, only to be "lost" in time !!! Sorry to be late with this info. as I just returned from the Hospital after a two-week stay !!!
