boats,  The Senior press has a adapter that makes the press compatible with regular shell holders and 7/8" dies fit it.

Now they take big bucks to get them, I got mine some years ago at a decent price.

I like heavy cast iron but like you say the Hollywood's are pretty expensive used.

Turrets vs Single stage

Stockerman has it right.

In principal Single Stage is stiffer and may be better for forming etc, however the advantage of the turret is leaving dies set up not having to switch out & re-set.

I ran a pair for years one single, one turret, but found the Lyman turret was strong enough to form any case I needed to form.  7mm08 from 308, 32/40 from 38/55, 219 Zipper from 30/30, 25 Krag from 30 Krag.

So ended up going to two turrets, 12 dies set with no need to change. Adding a little TruLine Jr turret to my set up with pistol dies took the need to load pistol off the big press too.

Lesson here is you can still buy quality American made goods a reasonable prices, used off Ebay.

I had a Lyman Turret press at one time. I was disappointed at the lack of rigidity of the plate that holds the dies. I liked the quick change from one cartridge to another but the price of the plates was off putting. I had owned several other presses previous to the Lyman including a RCBS Ammo Master. That press was probably the ultimate in rigidity in common reloading presses.

To make a long story short, I traded the turret press and four plates for a new Hornaday Lock n Load. The dies being mounted in the inserts are as fast to change as the turret press. It has other features that I like as well. You can change from the small primer seater to the large in about 3 or 4 seconds and the automatic primer feed works flawlessly.

I also have a Lyman Turret press bolted to my bench, and like it. Yes, it's not as ridged as my Rockchucker, but it is very convenient for loading, and I use it enough to leave it bolted to the bench.

Don't forget the C&H press. I was fortunate enough to get this one, with in the last year for $20 at a gun show. Shell holders can be bought cheap at gun shows, too.

It's the one I now take to the range with me when I shoot anything fixed. You can just clamp it the shooting bench with a C clamp.

As has been noted above,it's a matter of personal preference, as with cars and wimmen.   Myself, I am using the RCBS Junior I bought as  high school junior in 1964.  Priming by a Lee or RCBS hand primer.

You'll spend more time changing dies than loading cartridges.

And that is why i use the Lee single stage breech lock system press. The dies are adjusted already, and stay adjusted, and are fast to change from one die to another.
It's a good inexpensive press, i am very happy with it.  Had it for 10 years and used it on many thousands of rounds, sometimes on heavy sizing jobs. I did drill the aluminum body and i added 3 more screws, driven into the heavy wood table.

Even though space was limited my previous bench had my two rock chuckers mounted side by side, and I always felt that was a damp good arrangement. Never had to spend much time swapping stuff around that way. Maybe old fashioned or stubborn but I enjoy the solid smooth feel they have.

.... seems like you don't miss much

Good technique!  I do the same with RCBS Jr's.

To add to the information here, I have one press dedicated to push-thru sizing.

It is a Spartan C press.  Tilted at something like 15 degrees back from the vertical it makes the bullets drop quickly back into the bin after sizing.

That is to say on ALL the other presses I've sometimes gotten a stack of bullets a foot high before  the fall all over the place.

I'm still using a Lyman All-American Press.  I started with an old Pacific C-frame cast iron press.  I don't know where the Pacific is, because when I got the All-American, it was love at first use.  I also have a Lee aluminum closed press.  The only problem with the A-A is finding dies for it.  I'm going to have to find a machinest to make me a set of dies for 32 Long CF. I use a Corbin Swage press. It has enough powder to swage lead bullets, reform cases or any other job you can think of. My second choice would be a Rock Chucker.  Stay away from turret presses. I never saw a turret press that wouldn’t give under pressure.
