Nice collection. Think I see a SAECO, which requires three light taps to get consistent performance with black. Think some of the reviews have listed the cheap Lee plastic measure close to the top for consistency with smokeless.

Chuck,
I did have a lee but, it wouldn't keep ball powder in it and I got tired of cleaning the powder of the table so, it went to some one else. That was long before powder got so scarce, too.

Here's the other side of that powder measure rack. My B&M is the last one on the rack. The dull looking 55 is the one I posted earlier. I painted it black and put the brass hopper on it. It's a early 55 with the narrow mounting boss.

A lot of people don't realize that you can get a Harrel's with an aluminum hopper specificaly for black powder.  I use one and it's excellent.  I love the micrometer clicks.  It is a very consistent measure for FFFg to 1.5Fg granulations.   It won't do Fg.

I haven't got around to selling the Lyman 55, but probably will one of these days.

how much do you guys figure the size and shape of the powder hopper impacts the accuracy of the thrown charge.
I have owned and sold off (regrettably now) a couple B&Ms because they were so slow to work with--(and one had an aftermarket Sterrett mike adapted to the measuring chamber).  All in favor of Reddings+ one harrell for ball powder for the 25-20s.   I long ago got rid of my Lyman 55s.

But now I'm shooting German Schuetzens almost exclusively and acquired the better part of 12# of 4759-------So what is the next-best measure for 4759?
My Reddings tend to bridge with the stick powder and throw erratic charges.

Are you using the 5/16" diameter pistol insert in the Redding?

I've used a lot of 4759 in mine and haven't had any problem with that.

Which powder measure are you throwing the AA #9 with?
Einie menie minie mo!!!

Maybe you should bring those duplicate powder measures and sell them to us virgins.

See you at the end of the week at Tommy's.

Dave

Dave,
Anything that I shoot off the bench, comes from my trusty ole' Redding (not pictured, it's always in my shooting box). The exception to that is when I shoot my 32/40 Model 44 Stevens with 12.2 gr 4759. I use my B&M with it, because I have a system so that I'm not likely to double charge.

Regarding the duplicate measures, horders can never figure out, what ones to sell  Embarrassed But, maybe some day.

I'll be there Thur. afternoon Smiley I got my Hoch, 30/30 Wesson ready to shoot, yesterday. I'm off to the range today to see if I can hit the target, for the first time with it. I'm bringing it but, will shoot my Borchardt in the match.

Hmmm...  I Have 2 32-40s, 2 .22s, 5 scopes, 800+ cast bullets, 800 rds .22 ammo, 1-1/2 lbs 4227, around 1000 primers, 3 hand priming tools, 4 de-cappers assorted cleaning rods and supplies BUT ONLY 1 powder measure!  Maybe I had better re-think that.  See you guys next week.

Yep, you'd better re-think it.  You're way short on 4227 and primers! Grin

I do have an unopened 8 lb container of 4227 and a couple of thousand more primers.  Could throw those in as well.  Just in case.  might need to start casting as well.  After all I do have to get some 40 shots on paper offhand!

I envy you!  I've been to every supplier in the area and can't find any 4227.   Cry

I kept checking Powder Valley every morning (usually out in the afternoon) for over a month before I found it in stock.
