H4198 - 40-70SS

Any loads or thoughts about using H4198 in my Shiloh Sharps 40-70SS, 34"heavyweight barrel please? I have some left over from when I started out with a Pedersoli 45-70 years back until I went to black. I normally shoot black but at times it would be good to go to the range with just my rifle, loads and a target and not all the other stuff, blow tube /patches etc.. Range 100 yards.
Thanks,

I use it in both 38-55 and in .45-70, excellent results.  I have a 40-70SS, but haven't started loading for it yet.  I anticipate using 4198 or Reloader 7.

Thanks Art and Dave. I am very fussy about my loads, it took a while and a lot of money (rifle cost plus £1000 = $1550 shipping and tax, duty etc..) to get my Shiloh into the UK. My black loads are good, just wasn't sure about smokeless.
I have read various views about over powder wads on top of smokeless, I thought that it was a big no no. Views please.
Cheers,
