	I'd like to suggest a "Hunting with SS Rifles" board category, so we can share hunting stories. I realize that this is not the main thrust of the website, but I think it would be a nice addition to the topics here.

	Cliff Henderson of Ponoka, Alberta has shot a black bear, a white tail deer and a mule deer with his .32 RKS 1885 High Wall using a 205 grain Hoch breech seated bullet.

	I've taken several of my old guns (both single shots and lever actions) out and brought home mule deer with them. Got chuckles from my hunting group when I brought my Union Hill Ballard in .38-55, but they stopped laughing when I took my best buck ever at around 140 yds. with it!

	I hunt almost exclusively with single shots. Whitetail, Mule deer, Sika deer, and wild turkey with an original 44/90 '74 Sharps. Hogs in Texas with a 45/70 trapdoor. Ground hogs, prairie dogs, coyote, fox, etc with Maynard's--25/20 ss, 40/40, 32/35, and a 38/50. One of my most remembered shots was on a very unlucky ground hog who "made me" as I was sneaking up on him at 175 long paces, I'm 6 feet tall or used to be. Well, I stood up, he stood up and with a 50 cal Romano Maynard and Kentucky "wind-age" I popped him thru the head off hand. Stuff like that happens when no one is around to see it! I was almost as surprised as that ground hog. Although, I did use that same rifle to kill a small whitetail buck at 103 yards offhand while facing me. In between those successes have been plenty misses, especially on paper, or when other people are around to watch--I just don't get it?

	Hunting prairie dogs is the best application for large capacity magazines - multiple targets. THEREFORE I'm taking at least two scheutzen rifles prairie dog hunting this MAY.

	Two summers ago I was practicing with a Ballard 32-40. Nice July day. I had fired about 20 shots and had just seated the next bullet when a woodchuck marched out like Napoleon and stood directly in front of my target. He didn't make it! My only regret is that I didn't have my camera.

	Not really hunting,But I was getting familiar with my new Greener-Martini in 444 Marlin,I shot about ten rnds at the 200 yd targets at Hillsdale Rifle Range, OK nothing to crow about, hit the target all ten rnds. Some of the members wandered in saw my new cannon,very nice Greener! Then one guy saw a ground hog very close to the 200 yd. line. Hey Stack let's see you drill that pesky critter, Iron sights at 200, shot hit the ground about 20 ft.in front ,uneven ground .The critter took off,then came back,OK death wish, I let loose another shot, I was'nt sure I hit him, but Tom said it flipped over,we went down to the200 yd line,couldn't find body or blood,but it never came back.I figured the passing of the bullet,carried it off,so even if I didn't hit the 444 was enough to move it to the next cty. The one that got away,but never returned. 57thahc

	Turned in my M60 for a Martini!

	2 Deer and a Fox with a 38-55 Hiwall and another Deer with a Trap Door. I still need to blood the 38-55 Ballard and 38-40 Hiwall.
