Jerry Hartwig had his usual fill of his private Easton Ca. well water this morning and shot his 6th. 25WCF 200yd. 250 at his Club match this morning. Being the generous gentleman that he is and always willing to help others he is currently offering this sacred 250 water for sale as pictured in Mason Jars.

I guess what I've been drinking from similar jars is not nearly as potent. Cheers for Jerry!

Yea, looks like something they sell here in Tennessee - calms your nerves really well. Shake it and see if it makes little silver beads. Wink

Congrats Jerry!

I'd like to get my order in for some of that Easton Ca. well water. Please note that it must be used in conjunction with Javelina Schuetzen Lube for best results.  Wink

Congrats again to Jerry. Impressive to say the least.

Jerry
If you bottle that stuff you could make a fortune on shooters. Maybe a stand at Ratone next to the range? Congratulations! Ill put a star next to your name in the records.

What are the normal weather conditions on that range?
It looks pretty open ground with a solar farm next door and orchard on the other side.

Fogging morning means no wind to speak of. What were the conditions that day/morning?

KAF,

The range you're describing is Modesto Rifle Club, where I shoot once a month. Looks can be deceiving as it's not an easy range to shoot. Lots of mirage and some pretty evil winds at times. Target #5 was shot there and I don't remember exactly what the conditions were that day but I'm sure we had the usual switching wind and mirage. The fog had burned off well before we started shooting.

Target #6 was shot at what I consider my home range (Central Sierra Schuetzen Club), the Hutchison Range located in the foothills east of Fresno. The winds were running predominately right to left Saturday, which is unusual, but switching to a tailwind at times and then slightly quartering to the right. It's hard to get all the flags to agree on what is happening. Mirage is always a concern here too but the sun wasn't up over the hill yet so I couldn't see any, but something really affected not just mine, but everyone's vertical that day. By the second relay (ISB) it was hard to see the target at times due to the mirage. I'm not sure what the wind speed was but I was holding from one side of the 25 ring to the other and sometimes out in the 24 ring trying to keep them in.

I guess the short answer is neither range is going to guarantee you a 250 if you just hold center for every shot and don't watch the flags. You'll find some shots out in the 23 ring, maybe even the 22.

Here's a picture of the Hutchison Range looking downrange from my bench. Some interesting wind currents flow around and over the rocks and then swirl back off the mountain and rocks on the right. This picture is a few years old but nothing has changed at the range, except it's really dry this year.
