	Harry, you thinking of the cross patch? The Chase patch is a single piece of paper, square or rectangular in shape. Makes one wrap. The ends butt up to each other 90 degrees to the base. The bottom of the patch is folded over the base, or not. Chase patch can stop at the base. The best answer to Hanks question is - whatever works best. Could be bore/groove or anything in between. Joe.

Hello Joe, your correct, I was getting confused or having a moment of senility, which is usual at my age. It's bad enough getting old never mind having chemo treatment which wipes half your memory. 	I know what you mean Harry. I've had a few senior moments myself lately. Just about broke my own leg a couple weeks ago. Threw a steel saw horse on myself. Try that sometime. Got in an argument with the guy at the tire store today. Turned out he was right, sorta. Three weeks ago while working on the shop roof, knocked the ladder over. Had to shinny down a drain pipe and do a jump. Landed on the plastic drain pipe. I need a nap. Joe.

	I have always read where the Chase patch must be used with a bullet seater like the old Ideal No. 1? The kind with a drilled out ctg. case. Now what would prevent it working using fixed ammo if patch were folded just over bullet base edge & seated shallow in case..only .1" or so & most of body supported by rifling?

	I've used them muzzle loaded, breech seated as you say, and fixed. Works good. Joe.

	Joe can they be used with a Russ Weber style seater? I'm wondering why the paper doesn't just slide off of the bullet during the seating operation. My patched bullets are always double wrapped, but I would like to explore chase patches at some point. Chris.

	The paper sticks to the soft lead yet slides on the barrel steel. Not sure if a wrapped bullet with its multiple layers would work. I know with the single layer Chase patch, can use any breech seater. Joe.

	Thanks Joe. I'll have to give that a try then. I can confirm that a wet patched 2 wrap bullet works fine with a seater. Maybe there would be a problem if you patched it too large. Chris.
