Do any of you have suggestions as where I can find boxes to ship rifles?
If you can, please give me an indication of the quality, too.
Thanks.

Just one of many that work very well and they come in a box to boot.

I've used this one.

A little pricey, but a 14lb Stevens with a #5 barrel arrived in one piece.

Go to your nearest gun shop,   they trow away a lot of cardboard boxes that can be used to rebox your rifle...  and its free....  and they would probably send it if you have the recieverd address...

I used one of these before. It comes in a snug fitting cardboard box perfect for shipping.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I buy the plastic hard cases, and make sure to get them still in their cardboard box. Then rip the seam open on the cardboard box, and turn it inside out. Tape it back together, and slip the gun case back in.
Works great, and with the box turned inside out, nobody sees the gun case markings, and you can label it easier.

I'm 70 miles RT from my nearest UPS shipping point and the local USPS is such a pain to ship a long gun, that I use my LGS to ship for only the cost of USPS Priority mail.  He packs in the shipping cartons that he has received  guns in.  Never a complaint so far.

Never mind the mule. Just load the wagon.
