I got a call yesterday from Debbie, Joe Lozito's 
Wife. Joe had a heart attack at there home late Thurs night . We had just talked A couple weeks earlier on the Borchardt  Zischange , Smith barreld action in 32 Ideal  he did for me, and just sent back for the next phase. 
He was having a hard time with the Arthritis the last year and trying to finish up guns he had there. The DDT he installed is a work of art. After another local craftsman finishes the stock , I would of sent it back to Joe for final color case  and blueing. He just couldnt do the wood anymore. The gun will be finished and hopefully I can shoot it at out Montana Championship in August. Joe will be there in spirit, as will Chris Holman, who sold me the action and wanted to be in on this project also, and passed on 2013. A four year project, slow but sure. Pete

I am very sorry to hear the news, not only was he your gunsmith it appears he was also a dear friend.
