New Shooter New Rifle

Print Post
Terry Harper / Alias Shovel80 on this site just recently picked up a new CPA Model 52 in 33-47 and he has been working up a load for it. I think he found what he was looking for at todays pre-match practice session. Terry can provide all the particulars for those who might have an interest.

Congratulations Terry!

Very nice.  Why does the target say 38-55?

What barrel and twist?

Not sure why Bruce wrote .38-55, Just what he thought it was for some reason I guess?
It's a .33-47 ...30" Douglass XX 14 Twist.
Had a Great Time today, First 250.
We have a Match Tomorrow! Looking Forward to Competing with all the others ...

Didn't see the 38-55 error noted it is a 33-47 and one of my favorites.

Nice shooting Terry. You'll have to bring that Rifle up to Spokane. Well, well after thinking about it, maybe not Smiley

am I reading that correctly as an iron sight group?

Can't be all that many 250s with iron sights,   specially as wee all sen t be getting older and more visually challenged Cheesy

The Boy's drank plenty of water prior to today's match 40 Rod.
Jerry Hartwig shot his fifth 250 in the 200yd. Any Sight match with his 25WCF and Terry Harper followed up yesterdays 250 in practice today with one that counts in the same match. Both are regulars here and would be happy to address any questions.

In regards to the Iron Sight question for yesterdays practice target it was shot with a scope or as some like to call it Any Sight same as those that were shot today.

The first target is a great advertisement for CPA, you can't buy publicity like that at any price.  Smiley  All the targets show excellent shooting congratulations to all concerned. Cool
