I just got signed up after reading this forum for a couple of years or so. I've shot singles for a long time after buying my first high wall almost by accident. Still love those things.
I have been taught a whole bunch while studying at the feet of the masters, so to speak, and decided to hitch a closer ride, if you will. Pardon the mixed metaphors. Despite my fondness for Winchester's single, you guys have made me want a Hepburn (mustn't tell the wife), so maybe I'll have even more to learn in the days ahead- I think I'm in the best place to get that info.
So, I'm looking ahead and happy to have finally made the choice to hook up here.
Additionally, I'd like to personally thank Josh Borton for making this happen, since I had a little glitch getting this done. He came through just like you always say he does for you all.
Later, Pat

Hi Pat--Come On Down
Welcome and glad you made it. We're not hard to find, its just that fork in the road once you pass the second stop sign.
Anyway, you're here so grab a chair while I fetch you a cup of fresh brew coffee --cream or sugar ? ?
Ever seen a Maynard up close?
Its called a "tip-up" action, unless you're from the south, where they call it a "break open"

Welcome. If you have been lurking for a spell, you know that these things are addictive. Those bolt rifles and self-loaders tend to stay in the back of the closet.

Hey guys,
The "sickness" isn't new, it started about thirty years ago when I was offered a super Winchester in 30-40 at a low price (so the owner could finance the purchase of a Ballard). Since then there have been a number of other high and low walled wins. Calibers range from .22short to .45-90. Unfortunatly not all are still with me, since I'm a man of meager wealth.
But,I have stopped dragging old Colt revolvers back to the house, and spend more time looking at the pickings in the rifle category. Not so much in the single shot line where I live in the west, but the search is fun. As for the Hepburn, maybe it'll never come, but I'm having fun with the few I have now. Just had a .32-40 all apart to get the gunk out of the breech block. Then cataract surgery so haven't taken it back out to see if the pin being free isn't going to help out. Wishful thinking, but who knows. The groups had opened from under an inch to about coffee cup size. Was it the gunk or the eyes? Stay tuned. Pat
