Thanks Josh for getting this thing to work. I've been locked out since November. Almost like I lost my best friend. I love reading the forum. My only question is, is it just my pc or is everyones pc slower now with the new upgrade?

Thanks,
Jack

I think what makes a forum great is the content of the posts of it's posters . This forum has that along with expertise and polite members . I have to be honest, I always thought that the appearance of the old forum had a distinguished look to it ! The new appearance looks like any other forum and is very generic looking .

The new format was so slow at first, that I had to wait 30 seconds for each thread to open. I was disappointed, but the very next day it was at normal speed, and working fantastic! Thanks Josh!
I also like the black format, but happy to wait until something can be worked out!

I like the upgrade, it runs fine for me.  I solved the font size  issue by hitting the "+" function on my keyboard, and it fills the screen nicely.  Well done, webmaster!!

Sorry that you are not completely and 100 % approving of the newest version of the A S S R A Forum.

Some one once said that it is the content of our posts (and hearts) that they appreciate, not the color of our screens.

If you would personally prefer a particular color on your computer screen, I'm certain that your local community optical dispensing company can accommodate your every wish and desire for you by installing the necessary tinted lens which meet your specification.

Actually, there would be nothing preventing you from having different colors for different days of the week, it you so desired.

I personally like "rose colored glasses"  Enjoy !

The OLD black format has been discontinued by YaBB because of lack of demand for it.  It was just too outdated and appealed to that segment of viewers who are either over 50 y.o.a. and / or depressed.

This is the new youthful version of YaBB with a bright, peaceful, color array that is intended to "brighten up" the aging population of viewers and to reverse the symptoms of depression.

You are taking a little longer than others, but give it another week, or two at most, and you will begin to feel fine again.

Deep breathing will also help in persistent cases.

Sarcasm noted; but I still like the old black. Even if it puts me in the fuddy duddy class.

I am getting used to the different colors. I played with the screen brightness and turned it down. This has made it easier on the eyes. Is there any way that the lettering could be a little larger, I find it hard to read the small type.

The type when you answer a post is very easy to read. This is great for old eyes.

Yes, if I increase the font size here, then it's too large everywhere else I go, and I have to reduce it back at other forums.

If you have an Apple computer the prompt to increase the size is <Command +> but if you are using an Apple no one has to tell you.   Roll Eyes Grin

Harry, at the moment this is our only color choice (can choose larger fonts if needed though).

The old templates are not compatible with the new software, and I haven't found any pre-made templates for this version yet. I am working to re-created the old "Black" template, but its going to take some time. Will make an announcement when its available.

I too look forward to a higher contrast 'template'.
THANKS!

Still a work in progress. I kick up the zoom from my normal 125% to 150 or 175% and then I can read the posts fine. Have to kick it down when going to another website. As I type this reply, the size of the type is fine. Hopefully there is a way to make it consistent. The only issue I have with the color is that it is the same as most every other site. There was never any doubt before when I was on this site. As stated, the content of the site and the good people here is the most important part. The rest is window dressing. Sorry, just figured how to adjust the text size on the reply. Guess I didn't figure it out after all. Still can barely read the board topics. When I click on them to read the posts I can read them at 150-175% zoom. Never claimed to be a compute wiz. That's my kids jobs.
