Large bore diameter for my 32-40?

Something is not right.  The ASSRA Ruger NO. 1 has a #3 8-groove barrel with no cartridge designation.  I was told it was 32-40.  The pound cast mic'd out at .3272 for the throat and the bore .3245-.3263.  Is this unusual?

I always make chamber casts of my rifles, and some of my pistols. Make a Cerosafe chamber cast; then you will know. These are two chamber casts; the top one is a 30 luger chamber, the bottom one is a 32-40 with a .330 groove diameter.

Seat a pure lead bullet into a lead filled case, chamber.  Insert a brass rod down the muzzle and tap it until it bounces.  Tap the result out lightly and one has a good cast of the throat and leade.  No substitute for a chamber cast however.

Okay. Have done it many times myself. Usually tells me everything I need to know.

Large diameter .32s are out there. Not common, but they're out there.
