I shoot 8.15x46R, 14gr IMR4227, 165gr stop ring bullet. I will be out of old stock original 4227 shortly. I purchased 2lb new IMR 4227 today. Do I need to work up a load with new 4227 or just keep on shooting 14gr. Is the burn rate faster/slower or about the same as old stock.
Thanks Mike

I shot some of the really old surplus 4227 I got from a friend that was at least 40 years old (the powder, the friend is a lot older). The only difference between it and the new 4227 was about .2 grain difference in weight using the same volume.  I don't remember which was heavier but velocity was within the normal lot to lot variation.
