Dang, Ken. That's some fast work. Barely an hour between Bob's pic's the finished product. That's good service Wink

Those are a couple of beautiful rifles and Bob's look like they will be just as nice. Especially like the fact that your High Wall is a take-down.

Very nice, Ken. Do you feel the accuracy is compromised at all by the fact that it is a take-down?
What cartridges do you have barrels for?

Also, can you tell us what twist 40cal barrels BRC can make?

Ken - thanks. Those are very tasty. Is BRC offering a 44cal barrel? I'm needing (right Wink) a 44-77 for long-range work and think it needs to be a Sharps, be that an 1874 or Borchardt.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

If it came down to just double set triggers, I personally like the Ballards above the others listed. Of course my preference would be a Ballard regardless, but I realize that the Winchester, and Borchardt are much stronger actions. But considering the calibers chosen for schuetzen rifles, any of them are plenty strong enough.

If you were going to build a Schuetzen rifle using one of the following actions, which one would you choose?  Highwall Helm triggers, Ballard double set triggers, Stevens 44 1/2 double sets or Borchardt.  Please! Just use attributes of each action, not support, cost, looks,or other reasons.  Thanks.  Bob

The only sensible thing to do is own all those type rifles. Two or three of each, better.

Joe, You're not helping me a bit! Wink
Ken, do any of your barrels have a taper in the octagon section?  I noticed on Al's website, that he does not taper the octagon.  Bob
