Has anyone managed to get and test any of that 22 match Norma ammo that was released during the Camp Perry matches and too-quickly snapped up early last summer.
Yeah I know it depends on the gun/shooter/optics/conditions Wink

Paul, I'll check those sources out.   have you done any random weight checks for consistency?    I know there is more to the game than that but its a good primary filter step.

DW, I don't shoot much rimfire, usually Wolf M Extra, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not so good. I've never been able to get my head around the fact that I'm at the mercy of the ammo maker. I would be much more interested if we could " roll our own ".   Ledball

Try bullets.com  They had both types a few days ago. Good price on it too. My understanding is that it is RWS Rifle Match.

Yes I have and for a low end in price it shoots pretty good in my new CPA.
I put the new DZ scope on the .22 barrel and shot it in my back yard to get some sight settings 50, 75 and 100 yards. I just used the Norma Tac-22 and some Fed Auto match. The weather was not the best for the little extended .22 range. I must say that this rifle put a smile on my face.
I did not change the sight setting at the 100 yard switching from the Norma to the Fed ammo and the Norma printed about a 1/2 MOA lower but both shot quite well at 100 yards. Those orange pasters are 2".
The weathers hasn't been to good since I got the rifle but I shot it at two hundred yards and a 5 shot had a 2" vertical using the Norma ammo. I think it is OK.

Very limited test on the TAC-the core group was 1/2" at 50 yds., almost as good as the lot of SK Std.+ I have, but I had one unexplained high shot out of the ten.  Need to test it further to see whether I was the cause of the high flyer.

Midsouth has the Norma Match for $7.95 and Tach for 5.95 per box of 50.  Not exactly pre-panic prices, but cheaper than Midway and the shipping is cheaper.

Nice shooting, Leadpot.

I'm guessing that the "Match" and "Tac"   will be similar to the lower two grades of Wolf----QC differences.
That is, in calm conditions the "match" (held to sightly tighter specs) will show less vertical dispersion than the lower priced "tac"  and that the both will benefit from weight sorting with the Tac benefitting more than the Match.

of course for me,   shooting offhand, my own shooter-induced angle of dispersion, will completely hide any difference in the ammo batches. Sad

Does that translate into shake?  If so, my "self-induced angle of dispersion" seems to get worse as I get older.   Sad Grin

Hey Q.M.  I recently weighed some SK - it ranged from 51.0 to 51.7 gr.  Made me wonder what was making the difference - bullet weight?  First time I have weighed any.

Regards, Joe

What is the deal with all the 22 RF labeled "Tactical"? Looks to me to be a marketing gimmick to attract the black plastic gun types  Grin  Anything else that I missed?  Huh
