Everybody should send a email to Starline and request they make 32-40 Brass.

I wonder how large a order it would take for them to make a run?

I think the 2 1/2 inch 30 U.S. basic is a great idea.
Also think we could likely get a pretty large order considering all of the cases we make off of the 30-40.

They are not going to make a run ! The profit is in the calibers ( brass ) for the black plastic pistol/rifle crowd . I cannot even find 30-30 Winchester to form 32-40 WCF , let alone 38-55 or 32 Special to make 32-40 . It will not be getting any better with Hillary as your next President .

Starline seem to do some peculiar oddities in cases that most wouldn't think would be ordered in large volume. However, It would certainly cost several thousand dollars the have the many   drawing and forming dies manufactured unless it could be done 'In house' which would reduce the costs somewhat. From the few pictures I have seen over the years their production shop looks pretty full so adding machines to produce more cartridge types may not be possible.

Whilst a large order may temp them, a very large order would get more attention. Therefore I am thinking if ASSRA members all got together to place a bulk order it may be worthwhile approaching a large distributer of firearm related supplies such as Midway USA. Larry Potterfield seems to be somewhat approachable and if he could be persuaded to join up I'm fairly sure that it would get Starline's attention. Smiley

Perhaps if members were to hold a poll to see how many are interested and what calibres would be most popular then the calibres with the highest number of supporters could be selected  and then Midway USA approached to see if they would be interested in putting in a bulk order which would keep costs down, based on the adage. 'The more you buy, the cheaper they are'. Undecided  This is just a suggestion nothing more. Roll Eyes Basic brass that can be formed into several different cases may be the best idea as suggested by others. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Huh

Harry.

I would agree to buy 1000 32-40 WCF right now . If we could get twenty members to each buy 1000 32-40 brass pieces would 20,000 pieces be enough for Starline to be interested . Perhaps a phone call to them would be even better than an e-mail ? I would be willing to make the call and arrangements , however I think we would first need to get at least twenty firm commitments first . Each member would send their funds to Starline, then when Starline had received the money they could start the run ? Just some thoughts .

One thousand cases would be to much for me but would be interested in 400. Dale.

I could do that.  For the extras I won't use there will be alot of those who either missed out our came on-line later that will gladly take them off your hands, instead of some neck-beard on the auction sites.

Your post makes no sense. Starline does not make .223 brass. They specifically make cases that are of interest to us and adding both 32-40 and 30-40 Gov't cases would be a great fit for them. But, as they don't seem to be able to keep up with 38-55 demand, not sure how interested they will be.

I have two Rifles chambered in 32-40 and before I was able to buy brass I ran 32SPL brass into the 32-40 sizing die and it instantly became 32-40 brass albeit a little short but the neck was the correct size. The rifles never seemed to notice the difference. Shortly after that Midway got in a supply of Starline 32-40 brass and I snagged some of that.
