The Tuesday Afternoon Schuetzen Verein is in mourning today and we collectively decided not to shoot. We lost one of our promising young shooters. Jeffery Navarro, age 35, recent graduate of the Humboldt State University Environmental Engineering Program, sometimes motorcycle mechanic, very talented beer brewer and exceptional offhand shot, died in a single car accident in McKinleyville, California. He apparently fell asleep at the wheel. Jeffery joined us to shoot in the WSU Winter Gallery League for each of the last 3 years. Jeffery was a decent man, the sort you would be proud to have as a son or grandson. If your daughter brought him home, you might think she chose wisely. Today, we decided to hold a Jeffery Navarro memorial match, but we have not decided on any details.

Me too. We all need to remember that the most dangerous part of our sport is the trip to and from the range.
