The 9.6 has the least horizontal dispersion, and low vertical also.  The vertical I see as less indicative since you shot with a differing wind from behind you.  So, I'd call 9.6 the best.

I agree with SSDave.  What cartridge, bullet and powder?  I'm getting ok results with AA4100 (9.5 gr) unobtanium in my 25-20 WCF with a 122 gr Darr bullet...but not nearly as good as you.  Lots of operator error.

I think there are to many bullets put into a 40 Shot group to derive any conclusions. Five five shot 100yd. group averages would in my opinion give readable and reliable results to start a baseline for each load and at least 10 such averages of each to start devising a semi realistic opinion of the actual results. When one can consistently keep those averages to a 1/2 and under you are on your way to something really good.

If those targets are the same dimensions as the ASSRA 100yd target; they are not very impressive.

Honest I don't think any conclusions can be made shooting in windy conditions.   Rare for wind to be consistent, even if you think it's 6 o/c it's going to fill and back 10 20 degrees or more accounting for the out shots.

Having said that I believe very strongly in long run groups.   Shooting offhand Club matches 4 10 shot relays only groups important to me are 40 shots. After all that's how winner is decided match day.

Bench shooters 10 shot  matches its 10 that counts.

I think it was a valuable test because there is one clear best group.

I don't think Dave was trying to show us his best accuracy, just what the best grouping load was in his test. 15 to 25 MPH (25 - 40 kph) winds are very challenging and he wasn't holding for them.

Dave is very good at judging wind and holding for it so, I look forward to his next targets.

Dave, was that 4100 powder that you used for the test?

I hear what you are saying and Dave is a good shooter, his scores confirm that.

How do you know wind did not back off one target to the next.  Fact is its never steady. Agree one looks better than the others and it may be the starting point for further testing.  My wind shooting sessions are used to see what happens when it's bad not to find out what's good

I consider your test flawed. Shots through a tunnel (no wind) would give a more accurate result.  Take less shots/components.

What is the alloy ratio If I may ask, Dave?
