I just use a BR target and a rubber band.

I've also used the lightweight PVC pipe, and just shot it satin black. Some fits perfect, and some needs a wrap of tape around the scope to give it a snug fit. The lightweight PVC as used on sprinkler systems is cheap enough to do dozens of shades for about $5 a stick.
Occasionally can't find the perfect size, so I split it lengthwise, and then just spread it to slide over the tube. It doesn't need anything to hold it if I have to spread it a bit, as it tensions and holds well. Just put the split down towards the barrel.

Growing up I always heard that necessity is the mother of invention, guess my Grand-Mother was right.
