Paul Lambert 1937 ~ 2014
Paul Maurice Lambert passed away on December 22, 2014, after a two year battle with various health issues. He was born on September 1, 1937, to Maurice and Yvonne Lambert in Lawrence, MA.
He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1955 and went on to receive a BS Degree in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, in 1959. He married Dorothy Karalunos on June 3, 1961, in Lawrence, MA. After marriage, he worked in Somers, CT, and then moved on to Goodyear Aerospace, Akron, OH, Boeing Aircraft, Renton, WA, Herman Miller Company, Zeeland, MI, and then taught Plastics Engineering at Ferris State University, Big Rapids, MI. In 1982, he and his family moved to Utah, where he worked at Eimco Corporation, Salt Lake City, UT. In 1984, he began a twenty year career as a problem solver for various companies across the nation.
His life-long hobby was shooting schuetzen rifles offhand. He competed in and helped run many matches and won his share of them. He was a member of the ASSRA, ISSA, Utah Schuetzen Society and NRA. He also volunteered over one thousand hours as a Range Safety Officer at Lee Kay Center. He enjoyed fishing and traveling in his motorhome with Dorothy.

I enjoyed shooting with Paul, he was an interesting individual. I believe that picture was taken at the Modesto Rifle Club during one of our yearly ISSA Regionals quite a few years back.

John....yes, you're right! The pic of Paul was taken at the 2002 Modesto regional by Lonnie Bathke. Here's another one;

Sorry to hear of Paul's passing.  He always made a match more fun and interesting!
Somewhere exists a great picture of Paul wearing the "Safari Helmet" for most lions shot in a match!  RIP Paul.

Indeed sad to hear of Paul's death.  He was very helpful to me as a totally new guy to the Schuetzen game.  When I showed up with my 45/70 Hifghwall repro and he watched me try to hit the target he kindly suggests that a 32 cal would be more suitable.  Now, largely thanks to him and others in Utah, I'm an addict!  I will really miss him.

Rest in Peace Paul,

Dave

Paul was always an enteresting person to talk with.  Paul made the trip to the Wisconsin match
several times.  Was wondering if any knows where the safaria hat went.  The skunk hat was started out at the match in Porcupine and the first winner was Dave Skapple from Eau Claire.  We gave it each year as rememberance of him.  Dave passed way that following spring.  We lost track of it some years latter.  So looking for that needle in a hay stack.  does any one know of its where abouts?  so that we could keep the  tradition going again.

In the picture going right to left; Dave Fowler, Roland Groppe, Steve Barber, Paul Lambert, Pat Weber, Duane Jenner and not enough to see to say who is sitting to his left.

He will be missed. Barb and I always enjoyed seeing and talking to Paul. He was a good competitor and just nice guy. This has been a rough year for our already small group.

I'll miss Paul also. He would show up at Etna Green every so often. He was always a joy to shoot with. I remember he had a very pretty birdseye maple stocked Pope. He told me that he liked that rifle so much he bought it twice.
RIP Paul

Paul was definitely an interesting fellow.  I remember meeting him at Tacoma many years ago and last saw him at Spokane a few years back.  RIP.

Paul will be missed! One of the true characters in the shooting game Paul was willing to discuss anything related to our sport. Ill always remember him for his attention to detail.
Rest in peace Mr. Plastic.
