I have a couple of the MVA 23" scopes and a B5.  They are both very comparable, clarity and field of view wise.  I like them both and would certainly recommend them.  The B5 mounts are far easier to use.

Much same experience I have had. MVA's info was that 23" and B5 have nearly same brightness, greater than longer scopes, which is crutial to my long-term use with failing eye. I bought 23" because B5 does not come with 6"aperture-duplex reticle, which I needed for BPCR shooting with failing eye. I also ordered B5 micrometer rear mount because such mounts are much easier for me to use than their standard mounts for 23-28-30" etc. scopes.

Anyone with failing retina in shooting eye, I strongly urge to consider 6"aperture-duplex reticle. I can use this reticle easily and accurately with badly degraded retina. NO OTHER type of MVA-offered reticle is usable with that eye.  I use this scope for BPCR but also works well on bullseye targets and live critters. For much of my shooting, 4"aperture-duplex reticle should be about as good, but not for BPCR.

I shoot high power vintage sniper with someone who uses one. Even with the Creedmoor (I think it is) upgrades it is not an MVA in clarity or quality. But, it is legal on his wood-rifle.
