It starts out as 96% tin 2% Silver and 1.5% copper - if I remember the ratio correctly.  No antimony.

Rendered, cleaned and now in ingots - cools VERY slowly.

I'm sorry But I'm just trying to figure out if you are selling or starting to tell us the process to get to pure tin?

I sell ONLY at the matches I go to.  Too much of a pain to package and ship.  But, it does pay gas money to the match.

The hint here is that lead-free-solder dross / scrap is available wherever a manufacturing company sells it.

Not that tough to render, much like doing wheel weights.

I've sold several hundred pounds at matches over the last 4 years.  So far nothing but good reports.

I THINK most of the silver plates out on the copper wires that are dipped into the molten solder (in solder pots).

Hardness - tested ONE sample with was 42 or 43 on Rockwell B scale - almost identical to that of a copper jacketed bullet.

This stuff just works.  Certainly not 99.9% pure; more like 98%.

The ingot moulds are the simple cast iron moulds for corn bread.  Found from time to time at flea markets.

Which industry?  Where I work we make electric motors.  The windings have to be connected - wires are stripped and then dipped in flux and then dipped in solder - in a pot with an ID of 2" and about 1-1/2" deep, temperature controlled.

Operators occasionally will scrape the top layer off and that goes into a bucket for scrap.

I do have 30 lbs or so of 'lead-free solder' that is in 1 lb bars; but it is 95% tin and 5% antimony.

It was for plumbing purposes.

I use it only when alloying with wheel weights or were I don't care about the hardness from antimony in the alloy.
