We shoot the Monica Lewinsky's Birthday match on the 3rd Tuesday in May.  We give all participants a framed certificate, showing either place or "participant".  We also have a once-nice blue dress as a traveling trophy. I found it on the freebie rack at the local Adventist thrift shop. The winner has to explain it to his wife.

The first year, we used a somewhat suggestive target, in such bad taste that it even offended me.  For year 2, we put the 50-foot Schuetzen gallery target at 100 yards.  We shoot the same format as the gallery matches, 2 shots at each of 25 bulls, except that it is off the bench.

Amazingly, not everything you see on the Internet is true.  IIRC, in 2015, Monica will be 43.

Fredrick Sellous said of the 4-bore, he wished he had never used one, it spoiled his offhand shooting for life. Cry

Selous could never fire a gun without flinching after a season using a 4-bore heffalump gun - his D/B big game rifle having been stolen, and he with no money to get a better gun.

I don't flinch.even after having fired a 2-bore shotgun. Pull it well in, and it gives you a push, but nothing a reasonable frame can't absorb.

Aged 16 I fired more than 200 rounds of ·303" in a day - admittedly, many of them with a BREN, but a fair few with SMLE and No4.

Also about 200 9mm from a STEN

Between four of us (cadets), we had to dispose of  over a thousand rounds of the ·303 and around 800 rounds of 9mm Mk? Z (War Office regs.)

A good time was had by all.

But from the pic, my opinion of Bill Clinton's taste has risen substantially.

Taste, I said, not flavour...

Not sure where this fits on the recoil absorption scale  Smiley but when I was a teenager, we started shooting doves in September right after 3rd cutting of hay was stacked. October was for pheasants.   By the time they were getting a little skittish, endless flocks of ducks invaded the Treasure Valley.  After New Year's, ducks were petering out, but endless flocks of starlings  were invading the feed lots and they would eat a ton of corn silage a day if left to their own devices.  By mid March it was time to start working the fields and planting grain.   I had had enough wing shooting to last for a while, besides, my shoulder had a 12 gauge  bruise from close to my neck down to my elbow.  Undecided  I never developed a flinch that spoiled my offhand, but I'm still not going to risk shooting a 4 bore  Shocked
