Hello Again, Brudford --
Since this is the thread is RE; schuetzen matches and opportunities, let me provide you with a little additional information here.
The Columbia Schuetzverein does not own any physical property, particularly not real estate w/ club house etc. etc. (They do own a tool box to carry paper work in.)
They have established a " pay as you go " arrangement with the host facility which charges a fee for the use of their facility three times a year. The host facility is everything BUT a schuetzen club. They are made up of the "AR" black platic boys, the Cow Boy late blummers, the Bench Rest fellas, the pistol shooter, trap and skeet, etc.
I suppose at one time they scratched their collective heads when the idea of schuetzen matches was brought up in discussion.
There is a siniliar situation in southern Virginia and another in North Carolina if you would prefer the Southern hospitality rather than Maryland.
My best adviceis for you to "shop around" and gather information. But why not try them all and then you decide what suits your needs best and go there for matches.
I don't think you will ever run into a situation where the schuetzen membership is "sold out"
.
