Reloading for the #5(1897) 7MM RRBR

I am looking for hints on reloading for the above rifle and its working pressure. I would like to use IMR 4895 and 29 Gr for 2125 FPS and 30965 PSI per LEE's 1 Grain Factor as a starting load, with LEE CAST 145 Grain Bullet with Gas Check.
Does this sound OK, if not please give me some hints and
resources to check out.

Thanks Dennis Ellison Sr

You don't say anything about what bullets you are using.

I've been loading for the 7 mm Rolling Blocks  since back late the 1960's.  With a 175 grain jacketed bullet I use 39.0 grains of 4320 with good results. One of these years I want to try 4350 as I think the pressures might be a bit lower, but I've had no problems with 4320.  With the 168 grain cast bullet my load is 21.5 grains of 4198.  For brass I have always used sized down MILITARY 30-06.  Use of the heavier brass greatly reduces case mortality with the jacketed bullets.  I've used the same cast bullet load in both rifle and carbine.  Neither of these loads are for target work, just hunting or fun shooting.  Also, while they work fine in my rifle and carbine, you are on your own with what you have.  Caution is advised since I know nothing of the rifle you have.

I don't know about yours, but mine very much liked 160 grain Norma boattails with 47 grains of old milsurp 4831. 34 grains of 3031 was an alternative. With a 169 grain RCBS 24 grains of 4895 was pretty good or 21 grains of 4198 or 15 grains of 2400 and with a 150 grain Lyman Loverin 19 grains of 2015 or 14 grains of 2400. This was in 7x57 brass fire formed concentrically using a 1/8 inch stripe of tape around the case head and then only neck sized. Work up loads carefully. YMMV
