Cast Bullet Loading manual??
Dec 3rd, 2014 at 12:58pm
Print Post
Sometime back there was a post regarding a source of safe  smokeless powder loads for black powder cartridges.  I seem to recall someone mentioning the Lyman Cast Bullet manual.  Was that the current edition, or one of the earlier ones?

Thanks,
George

I think you need the current #4 Lyman Cast Bullet Manual.

Thanks for the link. Ordered one to compare to the current 49th edition. The 49th addition has load info for smokeless.

George,

What about Ken Waters "Pet Loads" articles for the old black powder rounds?
I remember he also had some different levels of loadings depending on the firearm action being used.

Have both. The 4th is 320 pages long with smokeless load info and the 49th is 464 pages long with smokeless load info. The 4th is the "Cast Bullet Handbook" while the 49th is the "Reloading Handbook". The OP is likely looking for the 4th, which is Frank's latest eBay link.
