Anyone have any experience shooting a 32/30 Rem? Bullet suggestions wanted.  The bore will be .312. I think I will be forming cases from .357 Maximum.
Thanks

Great little cartridge, can be made up from 222 rimmed or 5.6 X 50R mag brass. The most sucessfull one that I know of was chambered on a .30 cal .308 barrel. this gave lots of choices as to twist and bullet.

For my Hepburn in 32-30, I've tried  a few things.
I have a 129g bullet from an Accurate mould.  Working down from a 32-40Win load,   I tried the following:

12.5g 4227  ~1575 ft/sec
12.0g 4227  ~1466 ft/sec
11.5g 4227  ~1440 ft/sec
11.0g 4227  ~1369 ft/sec

13.75g  AA1680   ~1508ft/sec

10.6g  WC820   ~1501ft/sec

I was  using 357 Max cases, and CCI Small Rifle BR primers.
At the fall match, I turned in a 241 traditional Schoyen for score  using 10g of wc820.    The 820 was a gift and am nearly out, so I'll be working on something else for next year.
I was also advised not to use a double base powder in older rifles due to the greater heat of db powders wearing out old barrels faster.    I like the db powders because they meter nicely in my Harrel's.
I think there are variations of the 32-30:  .32 Miller short, .32Bass,  so their loadings may offer a starting point.

Hope that helps,  and as they say, your mileage may vary,

Score 241 at 200 yards with a 129 grain bullet?  Impressive.
