My new "Hakim"

Just picked this up at  the "Foremost outfitters" today labelled as an Egyptian Hakim.   I think the price was so low because there was no magazine with it and it didn't use 7.92mm  shells.  I'm really surprised that it wasn't marked "rare" because it takes .43 Egyptian cartridges.  Not sure what I'm going to do with it,  but will probably convert it into a Rolling Block.   It's in nice condition and the price was good.

You have purchased an Egyptian Garand.

Take care of it!

Your Hakim is the rare version without the adjustable gas port for ejection! I bet it may be a one of a kind Hakim in this configuration! Wink

Hi Redwing,  The store I bought it from had it labelled as a "Hakim", so yes it was an attempt at humor.  It was also a jab at places that profess some level of expertise, and then completely appear clueless.  Sometimes the cluelessness pays off, as in this case, I got a decent RB for a low price.

Guess I'll keep my day job!

Will it still take regular 7.62x39 SKS detachable magazines?

A self loading rolling block.......  don't think it would be legal at ASSRA matches.   Maybe if it's cast bullets!

Too bad it's not the folding stock version with a sniper scope. Cry

The joke used to be that most Hakim rifles were in such good shape, because they were only dropped once! That one time was during the 6 Days War with Israel, and the Israelis sold all they captured! Wink

Does it have a muzzle break or a pistol grip? If it does don't bring it to NYS as we are all nice and safe here since the SAFE ACT!

Just look how well that NYS SAFE ACT works. It really protected the two NYC cops last week!

Not a very good deal.
The magazines for those are very hard to find and very expensive when you do find them.

Hmmm, looks like you need to call Harlow and get him on the job. He can fix you right up.
