Was originally 32-40 , but rebored at Remington factory to 38-55

It's a good thing I can admire another persons rifle without mine getting jealous! 

For sure thats a really fine looking Remington there..
(now if it doesn't shoot as good as it looks, maybe you'll let all of us make you some offers)

I'm not familiar with how Remington marked barrels they rebored? Is there something somewhere on the barrel to signify a factory rebore?

There is a workorder # stamped underside of Barrel, near the frame , They advertised this factory re-bore work in one of their later catalogs around the turn of the Century It was $6 to $9 dollar range  ,I remember thinking it was fairly expensive , so most would take it to a non-factory Gunsmith for cheaper price
