amoskeg or server problem

earlier today I looked through the first couple pages of the Amoskeg auction site with the Petrov et al collections using the link in Harrys post.

I just tried again and got the following message

"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /104/auction104_7.html on this server.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
"   color added.

I got this on two different computers.  it the same computers and same server I've used for years (ATT-Uverse) an it worked fine before lunch.   I even just tried going to the (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links); and got the same message.

anyone else having problems like this?

Couldn't get the link you posted to go anywhere, but using the link Harry posted, I get the same results you got.
Edit: I was able to access the site a couple days ago.

in the "link" I mentioned I left an "a" out of Amoskeag but even correcting the spelling to (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)  still gave me the same message.

Maybe they have a way to check my bank balance before letting me on their site now Shocked

Grin Grin

There's a thought.
Maybe this forum needs to do the same to filter KAF's "Real Members????? I think not" from registering here and then spamming.     Wink

I would guess they are taking their server offline while they load up Sunday's offerings.  just a guess.

Never seen as many Hepburns at one auction....... and me out of cash.

That is indeed what happened !  If you entered a Visa or Wolly-World card number, those folks are disallowed without further ado.

I, on the other hand, entered my American Express Platinum card number and was forthwith ushered right in without a second of hesitation and greeted with "Good Evening Sir would you care for a beverage"

Ain't the " WWW " the greatest?

Well I tried to get to it with my standard log in and got the refusal reply. I have been looking the first day auction over for awhile with no problems. I wonder if they are loading the 2nd day auction and or the silent auction stuff and that is screwing up the site. We shall have to wait and see. Regards, FITZ> Cry

Nah, the server’s down because someone did a small test launch of that Russian Trojan Horse malware that Homeland Security found imbedded in our nation's critical infrastructure.

Be glad you couldn’t get access, because that means that Dr. Maynard’s American Express Platinum card number is the only one that the hackers obtained.     Wink

Dr.Maynard's annual membership fee to American Express brings more than the monthly travel magazine.  One of the other benefits beside the "door opening" prestige is full insurance coverage to pay for debits against the account for unauthorized charges, be they fraudulent or hacking by low life's such as what you are suggesting has happened.  Dr.Maynard may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.   Huh

Maybe we got hacked by that same group that Hacked the NOAA weather site and messed with their data base  (it is a real story it was on the legitimate news)

I think that they also stole our global warming while they were there, or set the thermostat back about 50 degrees. Cheesy

Well, it its back up today. They probably had the site down while they loaded up the 2nd day auction and the silent auction. Now we have decisions, decisions to make. Regards
