My Stevens 44

Here are just a few crappy phone pictures of my 44. A lot better shape than I was expecting. No pitting, but there is some lite surface rust and scratches on the receiver and lever. I am pretty sure the bluing is original (not positive), and all the parts that are blued are in real good shape. The bore is near perfect and looks like it has been shot very little. The action locks up tight and requires a bit of effort to open and close it.

I am very pleased with the rifle and I can't wait to shoot it. The pictures don't do it justice.

Good caliber. We have had a couple shoot in the Quarter Bore Corps Matches and both got medals. One held the group record for a while. As I recall it was 5 shots into 0.8?? inches at 200 yards. I'll bet this one is a good shooter too. Time to get tang and globe sights on it and start target shooting.

Looks like a nice honest well used original gun. I like the .25-25. These are not easy to find. Took me a long time to find a decent one. .25-20 44's are relatively easy to find. '25-25, not so easy.
