Swiss makes excellent powder and so does KIK and the new Goex's Olde Eynsford. Swiss and KIK use Alder Buckthorn for their charcoal which is the best wood for black powder. What your looking for in BP is moist fouling and velocity. Hint - Alder Buckthron charcoal, the 'Engine of BP' generates much higher velocities for original gunpowder. I've shot cases of Swiss but my favorites now are the March 2009 lot of KIK and the new Olde Eynsford

No, this loading data is not solely for Goex powder. It was developed by Curtis's & Harvey's in Ardeer, Scotland - recognized to be the best black powder made. Unfortunately, C&H is no longer in business
